What is the Gospel of Salvation? Simply put, God loves each one of us so much that He decided before time began that He would give up his divinity, become a human being, and pay the cost that only he could pay. The father literally sacrificed himself for you and me. There was a debt that we would never be able to pay. So, God in the person of Jesus paid the debt in his blood so that we would be partakers and beneficiaries of His ultimate sacrifice. The Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:21 says:
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Those that perish are those who do not believe. They believe it is foolishness. They try to intellectualize a spiritual matter.
Here is the crux of the matter. Jesus in John 3:16 gives us the simplicity of the Gospel. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This is the good news. It is very simple, but its simplicity causes people to stumble. They start asking the wrong questions. If God loved me then why this or that? These types of thoughts distract you from the matter at hand. Your soul, your eternal life is in the balance. It’s akin to you standing on the outside of a beautiful, extravagant, mansion asking questions about the technology, furniture, the beautiful décor etc. So, the owner says, I’d love to answer all your questions, but you won’t understand or fully appreciate my explanation. Here’s a much better way. Please come inside, see all the things that you are asking about, and then we can have a true conversation, because through your experience and seeing, your questions will be answered.
The Bible says, taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man that trusts in Him. Psalm 34:8. It’s an invitation to perceive and discover God through experience. The preaching of the Gospel is an invitation to know God.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
I am here to introduce you to the living Christ through the foolishness of preaching.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:14
I am sent to tell you the truth about Jesus. He gave his life for you and to benefit from his giving you must confess and believe.
God says it this way, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
It’s not complicated. You’ve made the decision. You’re now in the house and God will reveal himself and show you all around. You are now a new person. The Word of God says, Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Confess and believe. For whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13.
Jesus, I believe that God sent you just for me. I believe that you died and was raised from the dead just for me. I believe it with all my heart. Thank you for saving me.
You are now saved, and a new journey begins.
Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome.
